Vault Dead deposit
This tutorial explains how to set up a dead deposit for a Vault V1.
A dead deposit is a security measure against ERC-4626 inflation attacks (read more).
Setting up a dead deposit involves minting 1e9 shares from the target vault, on behalf of address 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD, through a simple process on a block explorer like Etherscan:
-
Access the vault contract on the explorer using the vault's address.
-
Approve the Morpho Vault V1 contract to spend the vault's deposit token on your behalf. You can do this on the deposit token's contract. Typically a value of $1.00 should suffice.

- Use the vault contract's
mintfunction for 1e9 shares, with address0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaDas the receiver.

Once the transaction is confirmed, the vault will be secured with a dead deposit.
